COPE Local 397 represents members in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Alberta.

We have 27 units representing close to 2,000 members. Their work includes Office and Professional Employees.

Meet our Leadership Team

Jason Hicks

Involved in the Labour movement for 20+ years, Jason has served in many roles and holds a wide range of experience as an activist and Community Organizer.  Whether canvassing door-to-door, petitioning to stop the sale of our Crown Corporations, attending and organizing rallies for many Labour inspired causes, being present at picket lines all over Saskatchewan, or political lobbying, Jason fights for workplace fairness in every aspect of life, while he and his wife Ashlee raise their three children under these principles.

A former Vice-President for the United Food & Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 1400, Constituency Assistant to several MLA’s, a graduate of the UFCW Canada Youth Internship Program, recipient of the 2005 Saskatchewan Centennial Medal and the 2022 Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medal for volunteer services, a Red-Seal Steamfitter as well as the former 2nd Vice President of COPE 397, Prairie Council Representative and Member of the SGI Bargaining Committee, he possesses the experience needed to lead our great union.

Currently sitting on all COPE 397 committee’s, a Vice-President of the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour and President of COPE local 397, Jason is proud to serve the more than 2200 members of the Canadian Office and Professional Employee’s Union, local 379.

Jeremy Koskie

I have been involved in the union since 2004. I started as a shop steward and was elected to the Saskatoon sub local in 2006 as 2nd Vice Chair. I served on the sub local in various positions until I was nominated for the position of 2nd Vice President on the local executive. I was elected to the executive in 2014 as the 2nd Vice President. I am now in my third term and am currently serving as the 1st Vice President and on various committees within our local. I also serve on the Canadian Equity Council at the national level.

Over the years I have had training through the local, the Saskatchewan Federation of Labour, and the Canadian Labour Congress.

Mark Morley

Mark Morley is an active and dedicated member of Cope Local 397, having been a part of the union since 2013. His involvement with the union deepened in 2018 when he was elected as a Prairie Council Member, and in 2024, he was honored with the role of 2nd Vice President for a three-year term. Over the years, he has shown a strong commitment to advocating for workers’ rights and has participated in various protests and strike lines in the past five years, consistently standing in solidarity with his fellow union members.

Professionally, Mark works as a Configuration Analyst at Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI), where he applies his expertise in technology and systems to support the organization’s operational needs. He holds a Diploma in Computer Engineering Technology, a Business Certificate, and a Financial Services Diploma, bringing a well-rounded skill set to both his professional role and his union leadership.

Outside of work, Mark is a proud pet owner of Bo, a Yorkie Poo, who brings joy and companionship to his life. He is passionate about his community, both in and out of the workplace, and continues to be a staunch advocate for fairness and solidarity in all his endeavors.

Jen Adams

Property Adjuster for SGI, previous Balloting Board Chair, previous Prairie Council member and long-time shop steward. Currently Recording Secretary and member of the Political Action Committee. Mom of 3, chair of local community school council, and member of the NDP.

Carolyn Krahn

Carolyn Krahn is the Executive Director of an employment rights agency that assists workers in navigating employment legislation and providing free public legal education. She has chaired several Boards both in a volunteer and professional capacity. She has completed “Intro to Stewarding” and recently completed the “Conflict Resolution” course via the AFL Winter School.

Carolyn recently led her Executive Board through strategic planning exercises and has participated actively in the drafting and creation of strategic plans. Currently, she is working on agency expansion and being able to assist more Alberta workers in accessing their rights and entitlements.

Carolyn has been a prior member of CUPE 4731 and now COPE 397. She held the position of three-year trustee with CUPE 4731 and actively participated at union meetings. Carolyn is also a voting member of the Calgary District Labour Council (CDLC). Carolyn lends a unique perspective to unions given her professional work supporting non-unionized workers and attending federal meetings to provide policy feedback.
