EVENTS Weekly Update – January 27, 2020

It’s been a busy January for us here at the AFL and in the labour movement as a whole. Setting up the ground work this month for success throughout this new year is extraordinary work and we wouldn’t be able to do it without you. So, I personally thank you for tuning in and distributing the information you receive to your networks. It’s an uphill battle, but there is no one we’d rather be in the trenches with than you. So, Thank you!!

Unifor is looking for volunteers to join them at their information pickets, dates and times in both Edmonton and Red Deer are posted below. Click here for background information.

One week left to go for our Annual Labour Sock Drive! So far we have collected over 750 pairs, lets get to a thousand! Deadline is this Friday, January 31, 2020. Please drop off any new, any size socks at our AFL Office in Edmonton or connect with our office about pick-up arrangements.

The CDLC is hosting a Letter Writing Night tomorrow and is encouraging you to come and participate in a fun evening writing personal letters to our leaders. Paper, postage and food is supplied, what more could you want!

The SFL is hosting its Annual Prairie School for Women from June 7 – 11, 2020. So don’t forget to pass around the brochure and save the date for this unique school. Deadline to register for the early bird discount is April 24th, 2020.

Just a reminder to check the job opportunity below. Please feel free to share with your networks.

As always, we would love to know what you are up to and we are happy to promote your events. If you have items for the update (upcoming events/ conferences/ seminars/ educationals) feel free to send them to me, with AFL UPDATE in the subject line, at svipond@afl.org.

In Solidarity,

Siobhan
