CUPE, Calgary’s City Workers – Public and Proud Campaign Launch – Calgary, Alberta

City Council is talking about you these days.

More specifically, they’re talking about replacing you (replacing us) with private contractors to save money.

We want them talking about how indispensable and irreplaceable you are, and how vital you are to maintaining Calgary’s #1 spot of the list of North America’s most livable cities.

Our goal is to stay active and vocal right through the City Council vote on privatization, and to push council towards a “no” vote.

The Public and Proud campaign has launched as a joint project with CUPE local 37 and CUPE local 38.

We made a quick video further explaining the situation, our position as a union and idea behind our proposed response.

Take Action

As a union member, your role in getting a “no” to privatization is invaluable:

The success of our efforts will come down to how far and wide can spread our message, and how well we demonstrate the flaws of privatization.
